Tobogganing adventures for your winter holiday in the Hohe Tauern National Park

Winter holiday in the Salzburger Land is much more than skiing. It is cross-country skiing, winter hiking, ski mountaineering, snowshoeing and – of course – tobogganing. Whether young or old – tobogganing is an outdoor activity that everyone loves. And therefore, it is definitely one of the things that you have to do on your holiday in the Hohe Tauern region

Near our hotel in the Pinzgau there is a multitude of toboggan runs. Some of them are floodlit and open at night, even in Krimml: the local run (Ortsrodelbahn) starts at the Gasthof Burgeck and goes down to the centre of Krimml. Also Hochkrimml provides an attractive toboggan run, which can be found at the Filzsteinalm.

Of course, the Wildkogel Arena is the unchallenged tobogganing highlight for your holiday in the Pinzgau. There you can find the world’s longest floodlit toboggan run. Over a length of 14 km, the tobogganing run Bramberg winds its way down into the valley, guaranteeing extended fun. Within 30 to 50 minutes you rush down the mountain, managing an incredible difference in altitude of about 1,300 metres. For less extended trips we recommend some of the family-friendly toboggan runs in the ski area.

Sledge rental

Of course, there are several possibilities to rent sledges in Krimml, Hochkrimml as well as in the Zillertal and Wildkogel Arena. So you do not have to bring your own toboggan.

There is also plenty for children to do around the Klockerhaus Hotel.
