The Upper Krimml Waterfall, with a drop of around 145 metres, is the highest tier of the Krimml Waterfalls. At the head of the Krimml Achental valley, the water plunges over hard gneiss rock towards Schönangerlboden.

The climb from the middle to the upper waterfall takes about 30 minutes. The path continues via the Staubige Reib, the Bergerblick and the Schettkanzel to the entrance of the Krimml Achental valley. In total, the walking time from Krimml to the upper waterfall is about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
